Interests
Throughout this website you will notice a sidebar with a range of ‘Interests’ icons. This toolbar is there to filter your search results by selecting your interests. These interests are user generated (by other members) by simply selecting the most appropriate interests related to any service they have used.
Let’s say that you recently stayed at a hotel and the food was fantastic... just go to that hotel’s review page and select the Food & Wine icon and hey presto it will now appear in other member’s search filter for that interest.
Our administrators regularly check to make sure that the interests are in-line with the service provider’s offering. More importantly the greater the amount of members who select a specific interest, the better ranked the service will be.
Below is a brief explanation of the particular interests to make it easier for you to review a service, but more importantly, to create and book a trip based on similar interests.
How It Works
1. Members select appropriate interests when they make reviews of accommodation, tours, and activities.
2. These selections help other members find services that match their interests better.
Family Friendly
If you are travelling with children then you will want to know the best places to stay that will cater for families. Services that have been tagged with the family friendly icon will generally have at least one of the following: child minding facilities, kids club, babysitting service, kid's menus, activities for kids, kids pool, playground etc.
Food & Wine
Are you a lover of food? Do you fancy a drop of vino? These services are suited to you. It could be a resort with a world renowned chef, or perhaps just a great location near good restaurants or even a cooking school. Maybe an escorted tour that takes in the local markets or wineries.
Honeymoon / Romance
If you are looking for something unique or special to spoil your partner then look no further. Perhaps you are planning your once-in-a-lifetime honeymoon or maybe just a romantic weekend escape. No matter the occassion these services will make you blush.
Eco / Responsible Travel
Are you conscious of the environment and your social footprint? So are the services that have been tagged with the Eco Friendly interest. Whether offering sustainable tourism or providing a carbon offset they believe in Responsible Travel. It could even be a volunteer program where you can truly give back to the community and make a difference.
Diving / Snorkeling
For all the marine lovers who would prefer to be under the sea. This will include hotels and resorts that cater to the needs of divers. Most will be located on or near the ocean. It will also be for tours and activities that include either diving or snorkeling.
Island / Beach
Whether an island resort in Fiji, or a beach break in Thailand. You want to relax in a hammock or deckchair. Perhaps a swim-up bar for happy hour cocktails. Feel the sand between your toes and enjoy the sun's gorgeous rays. Feel the heat.
Snow / Ski
For the snow bunny in us all. These services are for people who like it cold...ice cold in fact. Whether a chalet in Aspen or a ski school in Chamonix you want a winter wonderland. These services will cater to your needs year round so make sure to pack your beanie. It's always winter somewhere.
GLBT Friendly
Some people might not understand this interest. It stands for Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender. These services cater for your needs. You can feel comfortable in being yourself and surrounded with like-minded people.
Cycling
You like to keep fit by peddling your way around town. What a great way to explore a new place. This could be an orientation bike tour around a city or a cycling tour through Asia. Perhaps even just a resort that offers bikes to guests.
Pet Friendly
Woof woof, meow meow... that's right we are talking to your pets here. They are a part of the family yet it can be a difficult task to find somewhere to stay that will cater for them. Not only that but what about tours and transport? This interest is there to make sure little Rover is welcome.
Shopping
There are definitely some places in the world where you can really shop-till-you-drop. Images of endless boutiques, malls filled with goodies and markets come to mind. If you want to be in the thick of it then these services are for you. Just try and make sure you don't burn a hole in your wallet.
Party / Nightlife
If you are looking for a good time then you have come to the right place. It could be an all-inclusive resort that caters to singles, or perhaps a hostel set in the red light district of town. No matter what you are sure to find your fix of dancing, drinking and good times.
