‘Backpacker’ the Movie

I stumbled across Romain Corraze and his movie ‘Backpacker’ while browsing through Facebook one afternoon. After watching the trailer I contacted Romain as I really wanted to help him get some extra exposure for this amazing movie he has made.

Romain is a 25 year old student from Lyon in France. Shortly after graduating from his MBA, which he studied in Paris, he decided to embark on a year long journey around the world. Starting as a just a video diary of his adventures he quickly realized that there was something special about this trip so he collated his video entries into a movie.

Here’s the synopsis :

“The Backpacker movie tells the story about the 365 day trip around the world of a young french man. From the coldest times in Canada to the terrible heat of India, from the Nepalese mountains to the mythical trans-siberian train, you’ll live this adventure as a real backpacker mad about discoveries.

Get close to great white sharks in Southern Australia, discover Bob Marley’s birth place in Jamaica, be part of the huge west american landscapes and reach the end of the world in Ushuaia!”

I asked Romain to say a few words and here is his reply below:

Have you ever dreamed of touring the world?

Traveling is an amazing thing, especially when you’re young. You have the unique opportunity to meet a lot of people, share your experiences, open your mind and gain a deeper knowledge of the world that surrounds you.

Six months before finishing my studies in France, I asked myself : “What should do? Should I start working now or take off traveling for a while?” I then decided to leave everything behind for a year backpacking around the world.

When I look back at all the things I’ve seen in 365 days, I now realize how lucky I was to live such a dream.

At the very beginning, the Romain-World-Tour was a video-oriented project (subtitled in english) and as a consequence, I decided to produce a movie dedicated to the full trip. It is called ‘Backpacker’ and I hope you guys will enjoy my journey to more than 30 countries.

During my world tour, I�ve had the chance to get involved in different associations. Therefore, I now wish to give to the movie ‘Backpacker’ a humanitarian aspect. So I have decided to donate �2.5 to charity for each DVD sold.
